EZLynx Review: The Strongest Built-In Personal Lines Rater, With No Published Price and Divided Support Reviews

EZLynx Review: The Strongest Built-In Personal Lines Rater, With No Published Price and Divided Support Reviews
admin · Updated Oct 13, 2026

This EZLynx review concludes that EZLynx is the natural choice for a small or mid-sized independent agency whose book is mostly personal lines home and auto, because its comparative rater is built into the management system and quotes across many carriers from one data entry. The trade-offs are an unpublished price that third parties estimate anywhere from about $100 to more than $350 a month for a small agency, and customer-service reviews that are sharply divided.

EZLynx is owned by Applied Systems, which also sells Applied Epic. Agencies that write complex commercial lines, or expect to pass about twenty users, are the audience Applied itself steers toward Epic.

EZLynx pricing: what it costs per month and per user, according to everyone but EZLynx

EZLynx sells a set of modules (Rating Engine, Management System, Client Center, Sales Center, Retention Center, and others) and quotes each agency individually. We found no price on EZLynx’s site. G2’s pricing page for the Rating Engine states that EZLynx has not provided pricing.

EZLynx does have a pricing page. Its metadata shows it was created and last modified on 30 June 2026, and it lists no figures. It says cost depends on user count and the products an agency needs, that there is no single flat rate by design, and that members of agency networks usually receive a discount through their membership. Its metadata also mentions added discounts for Applied Client Network members, and network logos on the page include SIAA, Smart Choice, and PIA Select. An agency in one of those networks should ask for the network price before comparing EZLynx with anyone.

SourceWhat it says
Velocity AI InsightsRating Engine from $100 per user per month; full Management System adds $150 per user
unLocked CRM (a competitor)Rating from $129 per month; most agencies spend $178 to $376 per month on modules
InsurTech Tools (May 2026)About $350 per month for rater plus AMS; $400 to $600 with modules for a small agency
Spendbase$100 to $150 per month for a rater-only start; $400 to $600 for up to four users on AMS plus rater
A G2 community answerA 20-user, three-location agency with website quoting pays “approximately $4,500” a year

The spread runs from a few hundred dollars a year to several thousand a month depending on source and configuration. The G2 figure, from a single user, is far below every other estimate. We cannot tell which numbers are current, which assume per-user versus per-agency billing, or which include setup.

What a buyer can take from this: budget in the range of $350 to $600 a month for a small agency running the rater plus management system, and get the per-module, per-user price, the contract length, and any implementation fee in writing before signing.

What EZLynx does well

The rater is the product. EZLynx describes its Rating Engine as a comparative personal lines rater returning real-time quotes from “hundreds of carriers across 48 states” from a single data entry. A separate comparison site quotes EZLynx as connecting to more than 330 carriers. Either way, for a personal lines agency the rater is the reason to buy, and having it inside the management system removes re-keying between two products.

Everything is in one cloud platform. Policy downloads feed client records, the client portal (Client Center) offers self-service ID cards and change requests, and sales and retention modules work from the same data. EZLynx says more than 30,000 agencies use it.

It has a clear upgrade path. Because Applied owns both EZLynx and Epic, several third-party guides describe moving from EZLynx to Epic as a recognized route for agencies that outgrow it. Migration still means data conversion and retraining.

Commercial quoting is growing. Applied acquired Tarmika, a commercial lines comparative rater, in August 2022. Third-party sources describe Tarmika’s integration as supporting small commercial submissions from EZLynx.

Where reviewers disagree sharply

EZLynx’s reputation is split in a way the other systems in this vertical are not.

G2 shows EZLynx as a Spring 2026 Leader in insurance agency management systems, according to InsurTech Tools, and G2 reviews collected in mid-2026 praise its interface and automation. Several of those reviews are marked on G2 as invited on the seller’s behalf and incentivized.

Capterra rates EZLynx 3.7 out of 5 across 74 reviews, with 18 percent negative sentiment and a value-for-money score of 3.4. Capterra’s comparison page with Applied Epic quotes reviewers describing the customer service team as rude and short on product knowledge. SelectHub’s analysis of user reviews reports that 91 percent of users who commented on service described it negatively, and that every reviewer who mentioned implementation called it long.

Our reading: the product earns praise, and the support experience varies enough that a buyer should ask for references from agencies of a similar size and book mix.

How we sort EZLynx’s AI claims

Using our three-tier framework:

AI summarization of activity notes: working. A third-party review describes EZLynx condensing activity notes into bullet points. Each summary can be checked against the notes it came from.

AI Email Content Assist: promising. Drafting client emails from policy context saves time only if staff read and correct each draft before it goes out.

Applied AI Lab: not yet a product. EZLynx’s AI Lab page invites agencies to test AI-assisted features across Epic and EZLynx workflows before release. There is nothing to sort until features ship.

Applied Net 2026, Applied’s annual conference, runs 27 September to 1 October 2026, days after this review. Applied’s announcements there may change the AI picture, and we will update this section at the next accuracy pass.

A factual discrepancy worth noting

QuoteSweep’s 2026 comparison articles give two different dates for Applied’s acquisition of EZLynx: 2018 in one article and March 2021 in another. We have not confirmed the date against Applied’s own announcement, and it does not affect the buying decision, but it illustrates how much of the coverage in this category is copied from other articles without checking.

Who should skip EZLynx

Do not buy EZLynx if any of these describe your agency:

  • Your book is mostly complex commercial lines. Third-party comparisons consistently point commercial-heavy agencies to Applied Epic or HawkSoft.
  • You need a published price and published contract terms. EZLynx offers neither publicly.
  • Responsive support matters more to you than the rater. Service reviews are divided, and HawkSoft leads the category on support ratings.
  • You already have a rater you like. Much of EZLynx’s value is the built-in rater. Without it you are comparing a management system alone.
  • You expect to pass about twenty users with multiple offices. Plan for Applied Epic or an enterprise system from the start.

Frequently asked questions

How much does EZLynx cost? EZLynx does not publish pricing. Third-party estimates range from about $100 per user per month for the rater alone to $400 to $600 a month for a small agency running the rater and management system. Get a written quote.

Who owns EZLynx? Applied Systems, which also owns Applied Epic, Tarmika, and Ivans.

Is EZLynx good for commercial lines? It is built mainly for personal lines. Tarmika integration supports small commercial submissions, but agencies with complex commercial books usually look at Applied Epic or HawkSoft.

How much does EZLynx cost per user? Velocity AI Insights estimates the Rating Engine at $100 per user per month, with the full Management System adding $150 per user. EZLynx’s own pricing page says cost depends on user count and modules, and that agency network members usually receive a discount.

How much does the EZLynx rater cost? EZLynx publishes no figure. Spendbase estimates $100 to $150 a month for a rater-only start, and unLocked CRM, a competitor, puts rating from $129 a month.

The verdict

For a personal lines agency of one to about fifteen people, EZLynx’s built-in rater is a genuine advantage, and the all-in-one cloud platform is simpler than running separate rating and management systems.

Buy it with your eyes open on two points: nobody outside EZLynx’s sales team can tell you what it costs, and support reviews are uneven. We compare it directly with its two most common alternatives in HawkSoft vs EZLynx and Applied Epic vs EZLynx, and across the field in our agency management system buyer’s guide.
